Lump in c-section scar...

I had a c-section almost 3 weeks ago and last night noticed a small pea size lump near the end of the incision.  I was reading that it is pretty normal and would most likely disappear over time.  This is my 2nd c-section and I don't remember having anything like this before.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Does it go away on it's own?  What did your OB say about it?  TIA!

Re: Lump in c-section scar...

  • I noticed it before my 2 week pp check up and I asked my OB. He said that is where my insides were stitched up and that it should go away once it's healed. It's normal.

    Shouldn't be painful.

  • I had one but it felt more like a golf ball.  My OB said that it occurs mostly on the side where they finish closing the incision.  Now 2 months later it is completely gone

  • I had a giant lump under the skin -- more like a ridge. It went away. Stop touching your scar!! :)

  • Mine is a lot thicker in the middle from my c-section 6 years ago, this time my dr is going to cut around the entire incision and give me a whole new scar. I asked her to do a tummy tuck while she was at it but she said no :( It's normal though, we all heal differently and in a few weeks/months it'll look even more different. My faded so much I could barely see it anymore.

  • Its just from the very end stitch. The lump forms right over it. No worries :) I have it as well.
