Success after IF

Is hope a bad thing?

Our chances of conceiving a baby naturally are very low due to severe MIF, but I have not been feeling myself the last few days and keep thinking "could I be pregnant?"  My period is not due for a few more days and while I am sure that it will show up in all its glory, I can't help but feel a little hopeful that this is our month.

I am not really expecting a response from anyone, but just wanted to get my feelings out there.  Thanks for reading.

Re: Is hope a bad thing?

  • I have PCOS, and long ago I decided then when TTC with an obsticle, hope is really the only thing you have.  For the rest of the month I wasn't pregnant but for those 2 weeks, I always had a chance, no matter how small it was.

I think hope is a great thing, and I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

  • I've been pregnant 12 times. And get excited EACH and every time I think it could be "it."  And FWIW, quite a few of those times have been with "1% morph" (with my own issues causing the c/p's).  All it takes is one!!!!

For me, I'd rather go thru this hell-journey with a little HOPE. I'll deal with the crash later, but for now, I need to be as happy as possible and hope for the best.

    GL to you!!!

Hope is a tricky thing, that's for sure.  We are also dxd with severe MFI.  DH had decent counts, but terrible clumping and 0 motility.  They didn't move AT ALL.

He started 600mg of Co Q 10 a day and after 3 months he had 80 % motility with the forward progression marked at 3-4.

I know you're not looking to cycle again, but if being open to having more children is a possibility for you, this might be something to look into.  Aside from the fertility aspect, there are numerous benefits of Co Q 10.

I know it's hard - keep you're chin up.  Hugs

  • To quote the Shawshank Redemption: "Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."

My husband has 0% morph and we have conceived naturally twice despite doctors telling us it would never happen.  There is always reason for hope.

Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

  • i dont think its a bad thing, but i also think its important to be reailstic at the same time. hope and faith plays a huge role in this whole IF world.

Even though i have PCOS and dont ovulate on my own (as far as i know), i still get that "could i be pg?!" thought all the time. i am sure i imagine pg symptoms and drive myself insane lol.

having a good support system is really a huge help. you are defenitly not alone!
