So I got the nastiest sunburn ever last weekend. Normally I get pink the first time in the sun (gardening of course), then I heal w/in a day or two. Well I don't know if pregnancy has made my skin more sensitive but omg.... I was red and sore for a full week. Then over the weekend the water blisters popped up on my chest! I was liberal and religious about the 50 spf (after burn #1... bad plan i know) but omg. I've never had one so awful. Now I'm peeling and yeah... its not pretty. Yech. Just wondered if anyone else had found their skin was way more sensitive to the sun. I'd never seen anything about it (or thought to look it up before) but yeah... yikes.

I have read a couple places that your skin can be more sensitive due to the hormones. I have noticed that when I am in the sun, I don't feel like I am burning (or even getting any color) and then like 4 hours later I turn bright red. It also lasts longer than it used to, like you guys said.
I wear SPF 30, but I haven't been reapplying as much, because I don't really feel the sun doing anything...then I regret it later. I have to readjust and just make myself reapply more often.
Ouch- I hope it heals quickly. Solarcaine is awesome as sunburn relief, but I've never used it while pg so you'd have to check with your dr to see if it's ok.
I had read about that possible side effect during my first pg and it freaked me out since I'm already Irish McIrish
I don't go anywhere without at least one bottle of sunblock these days. I'm so freaked out that I'm going to pick up DD from daycare one day and she'll be a little tomato.
My skin is definitely more sensitive now. The weekend before last I was in the sun for about 5 minutes total, and I got a sunburn on my face. It's not as bad as yours sounds, but normally I wouldn't have burnt that fast.
I hope you feel better soon.
