First, I want to tell you that I really enjoy reading your posts and replies. I respect what you say, and I've taken your words/experiences into consideration a few times. So thanks for being here.
Second, a while back you posted something about foods that make babies gassy if you EBF. Do you happen to still have that list or the link? I can't seem to search for it on my iPad or iPhone.
Third, I'm in OC, Socal. And I remember reading that you were planning a trip to Knotts. How did LO handle it? Lots of sun and excitement - I imagine nap time must've been compromised. How did she do during the day? How did she do that night?
Thank you again!
Re: **Tiffany**
I don't have that link anymore, but I do remember most of the foods. (I should, I live it!) Asparagus, Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, Beans, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Dairy products, Soy products, Caffeine, Citrus Fruit, Corn, Eggs, Peppers, Iron Supplements, some medicines (you'll have to ask your dr. about that one), Onions, Peanuts, Shellfish, Tofu, Spicy Food, Tomatoes and tomato products, and wheat. The only thing that bother my LO now is beans, broccoli, corn, cabbage, onions, tomato ANYTHING, and citrus fruit.
We wound up going to Sea World instead of Knott's, but she did just fine there too. We had our double Maclaren stroller, and the seat back reclines so she could lay down. She napped a little less, yes, but we just put her down for bed a little earlier- and she was totally ready for it. I put sunscreen on her every 80 min, like the bottle said, and she didn't burn at all. She actually slept an hour longer before her first feeding because she was so tired.
And thank you for the nice stuff you said!
I notice with every growth spurt, her tummy matures more. I've been able to have a modest amount of dairy since she was 3 months. I test the gas/fuss-causing foods in the mornings every 2 weeks or so. It generally takes 8 hours for what you eat to get through to your milk, so I'd test a food in the morning or early lunch and look around dinner time to see how she reacts. (It only takes an hour after she ate to know if it would cause gas or fussiness.) Every time I eat spaghetti sauce or fresh tomatoes for dinner, she would become horrible in the early morning. All you can do is test to see what foods she's still sensitive to. By the time your baby is 6 months, her stomach will be mature enough to handle all foods and there shouldn't be any foods that are off limits anymore.
I keep telling myself, 'only 2 more months til I can have a pizza..'
