To go to the doctor or not....?

My LO has had a cold for about 10 days now and over the weekend spiked a mild fever and got a red prickly rash on her torso.  She has also had diahrrea off and on the last couple days.  The last time she had similar syptoms I took her in at 14 days and she had an ear infection.  I never know if I'm overreacting or if I should take her in.  What do you think?

  • Yep I would take her in. Especially with the fever and diarrhea and the past history of the ear infection. Never hurts to be safe!

  • I would take her. My pedi told me if she has a cold for more than 10 days to take her in.

GL, and hope she feels better soon!

  • I would also start giving her probiotics right away.

    This exactly!

  • I know my pedi would want to see DD at that point... it's definitely a good idea to get the ears checked. Hope she's feeling better very soon!

I would take her in.  That sounds like my daughter.  Mild fever and then it spiked to 103.9 and she ended up with an ear infection.

This.  Plus the fact that symptoms are increasing rather than decreasing.  The cold may have turned to a sinus infection or ear infection.

  • I'd take her in. That's a long time for a cold and the symptoms are increasing, instead of improving.
