We have 2 spare bedrooms- one will be the nursery and one will be a guest bedroom. We are contemplating have the twins continue to share a room once they reach the toddler stage or older if they are the same gender. However, if we have one boy and one girl, we will separate them in several years.
I want to paint (at least) one of the rooms now and I was thinking about waiting to paint the other room once we have the anatomy scan. Currently, both rooms are beige which is boring per my DH. I'm thinking about painting the guest room light yellow and actually contemplated going ahead and painting the nursery light yellow as well since I think that would work for girls or boys. However, I read that yellow causes babies to be fussier. Any one have a yellow nursery? Any truth to that? If not, what color is your nursery? and do you have girls/boys/or both?
Thanks so much.

Re: Nursery paint color?
the color is Rainwashed by Sherwin Williams. It is a blue, but can look grey or greenish (like seaglass) depending on the light.

ETA: my twins are b/g (but I think you knew that )
Thanks ladies! Niki- your nursery is gorgeous. I love the paint shade for boys or girls. I was trying to decide if the cribs should be next to each other like you have it or opposite sides of the room. I thought if one woke up, they might wake the other up. Is this a problem?
I think I'll paint the guest room pale yellow and hold off on the nursery until after the gender scan and bedding selection... Now I just gotta decide which room should be which.

My nursery is a very pale yellow. The color is "Paper Lantern" by Sherwin-Williams. I love it. Gender neutral but not an in-your-face yellow.
I was in a similar situation... We painted our guest a cool greyish color (like the color of an elephant) and the nursery "water sprout" from Behr paint. It is a nice light green color. For my DD1 we accented it with that light green, light pink and magenta throughout the room/bedding. Now that we are having twin boys we are going to just move her into another bedroom or the guest room -(I think the light pink and magenta will look awesome with the grey.)
Then for the boys I am going to use light blue and navy blue to accent it. It i was going to have B/G twins I was just going to use pinks + blues to accent near each one's crib

We've never had a problem with them waking each other until this week when we were doing a little sleep training that involved CIO. Then we moved DD into our room and left DS in the nursery. For naps this lasted one day and for bedtime two nights.
They cry in the cribs without waking each other, but I didn't want to deal with the consequences of extended crying. I like having the cribs near each other because I can check on both easily and do so without them seeing me
We rent the house we currently live in, so we didn't get a choice in paint colors. But I really like what was already in the room - it's a pale sage green, and we found it really easy to find bedding that would work in that color, gender specific and neutral.
