I have a baby book, and at 25 weeks old it says to start baby food and dry toast (no butter)?! Isn't that kind of early to start toast? Just seems crazy to me, but I know she transitions slowly over to table food within the next few months. Any thoughts?
Re: Feeding dry toast to a 6 month old?
They say toast rather than bread because LO can "chew" it better. If you just feed them soft bread, it will gum up to a big glob in their mouth and potentially be a choking hazard.
We've fed whole wheat toast (bread, english muffin, bagel) and J loves it.
We probably started the toast after he'd been on solids for about 1 month or so.

look at you getting crafty!
We just started toast this week and it was okay for him. I'm not sure how much he actually "ate", but it sure made a mess.
If the baby is only 6 months, I would wait a little bit. I started making DS's purees thicker and chunkier and now we are ready to transition to table foods. It has been a slow transition.
