Pregnant after a Loss

Third tri nausea?!

I did not have one single bout of nausea this entire pregnancy, not one, and then in the middle of the night last night I got a killer attack of nausea and heartburn. I spent the entire night going from the toilet to the recliner (that's the only place I could get comfortable). I never actually threw up...I just felt so sick. It's a little better this morning, but I still feel kind of queasy. I have no idea where this came from.

Re: Third tri nausea?!

  • When I get really awful heartburn it feels like nausea.  I was diagnosed with GERD a few years ago, and I initially thought I might be pregnant because I was nauseous constantly.  Turns out I just feel queasy when I get heartburn.

  • I had 3rd tri nausea really bad with Lillyan. I asked the dr about it and she said it was because the baby was taking up more space and so the food sometimes took a lot longer to go down your esophagus to your stomach, hence the nausea and bad heartburn.

  • I take zantac sometimes twice a day because of my reflux.  With DS it actually burned a hole through my vocal cords.

I also get queasy if I don't eat regularly (morning sickness and hypoglycemia).

I was having it for awhile, but thankfully, it went away again.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays away now.  Of course, its been replaced with EXTREME exhaustion, so I'm not sure which is worse....

  • I have morning sickness for my entire pregnancy but it eases off a bit after 20ish weeks.  But, like you, towards the end I end up getting sick from all the heartburn.  With my first pregnancy I would wake up around the same time each night and throw-up my dinner.  It was annoying.  I guess I'm hoping this time around it at least won't be every night.  Right now I'm getting sick about one or two times a week.

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
