we're in the process of looking to buy a house. (FINALLY! YAY!!!!) anyway, i know NOTHING about the schools around here since i didn't grow up in this part of the state...
is there a website or some place that that's reliable to research schools at? i've read some "parent" reviews but i don't know how reliable that kind of thing is ya know? bc any joe blow can come along and type something out.
and what do i look for in a good school system?? this is totally foreign to me lol.
Re: school districts....
Try this site. I can't vouch for how good it is, but with the girls going into school next fall I've started looking. I've heard some not so great stories about the district we're in, but I don't want to make a decision based on a few people's experiences. If you find something better than this site, please share it with me:

thanks mrsjones!
from what it looks like right now, it will be somewhere in brunswick county, just not sure exactly where. could be leland, southport, supply... just not sure exactly where. dh works in pender county but he doesn't want to move to pender county, and new hanover is way too expensive. :-(
i would prefer new hanover/wilmington but it's just not in our budget.
I have no idea how accurate these sites are, but we've used these:
