Are nuts okay to eat during pregnancy? I love the saltiness and they have protein. Someone said that it could cause nut allergies in the baby, but that could be an old wives tale too.

"'My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,' says the Lord. 'And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.'" Isaiah 55:8-9

Actually it's not an OWT. There is a lot of mixed research out there right now on it. I found this answer from Dr. OZ
https://www.sharecare.com/question/eating-nuts-allergies-asthma
It says that eating peanuts during pregnancy doesn't *seem* to have an affect unless there is a family history of extreme allergies. He also says that eating nuts in pregnancy IS linked to higher rates of asthma but you can combat that with Omega 3 fatty acids.
My ds has nut allergies and we have NO family history of nut allergies whatsoever on either side of the family. I will NOT be eating peanuts or any nuts during this pregnancy.
