Pregnant after a Loss

Mixed Nuts

Are nuts okay to eat during pregnancy? I love the saltiness and they have protein. Someone said that it could cause nut allergies in the baby, but that could be an old wives tale too.

Actually it's not an OWT.   There is a lot of mixed research out there right now on it.   I found this answer from Dr. OZ

    https://www.sharecare.com/question/eating-nuts-allergies-asthma

It says that eating peanuts during pregnancy doesn't *seem* to have an affect unless there is a family history of extreme allergies.   He also says that eating nuts in pregnancy IS linked to higher rates of asthma but you can combat that with Omega 3 fatty acids.

My ds has nut allergies and we have NO family history of nut allergies whatsoever on either side of the family.  I will NOT be eating peanuts or any nuts during this pregnancy.

  • Ummm almonds are in my book of 100 healthiest foods to eat while pregnant.....and I believe I read somewhere that eating them during pregnancy decreases the risk of allergy. I could be wrong though, best to ask your doctor I guess ;)
