How do you hyperlink with a mac?

We have new iMacs at work and I'm used to URLs automatically hyperlinking.  Doesn't work that way w/ a Mac, I guess.  How can I make it happen?

When you are writing a post, copy and paste the URL in the box. Highlight the URL then click on the chain symbol (above in the editing toolbar), paste the URL into the section that says 'URL link' and then hit done.

You copy the link, type what you want to call it, or paste it in your post, and highlight it, then click on the Link button above on the reply screen (looks like a chain link) and paste the url in there. 

Basically just highlight whatever you want to link, and then click on the link icon and paste the URL in the blank. If you want to have the actual URL be clicky, highlight that, if you want to call it something like "THIS" then highlight THIS and click on the link icon.

that's easy enough...i should have figured that out, as i have used that feature before when i didn't want to post the link itself, just the name of the article (or whatever) and have it linked.  thanks!
