We still have a little over 4 months till her 2nd birthday but we are getting her an outdoor swing set...we are currently putting in a privacy fence so I am excited that she will have her own play area.
I saw the cutest little Radio Flyer pink tricycle at Target, or what about like a Little Tykes or Step 2 play house? Got a sandbox or water table? Lol sorry I am mentioning so many outside toys, I have a DD who loves outside.
A table and chair set, art easel, or any baby doll/playing house, or dress up related items I think make good gifts around that age as well
I got my 2yr old nephew a radio flyer tricycle from Wal-Mart and it was his favorite gift at his birthday party! It was the perfect hight and size for him and his 2yr old legs! He started out making it go with his feet on the floor but now, (only one month later) he has figured out how to pedal it! This is the perfect riding toy to learn how to pedal with!
His parents got him a small bicycle with the training wheels on it. It will probably be another year before he can ride the thing! You have to pick him up and set him on the bike and he can barely even reach the pedals! But they are known to get him toys that are too big for him. For his second Christmas (he was 19 months old), they got him one of those battery powered trucks that a child can sit in and drive. He didn't even know how to push the pedal down!
Bottom line, your child will enjoy a toy a lot more if you get something age appropriate and not something they will have to learn to play with.
