If you have a 2.5 or older child, did you take them to an ultrasound? Did it help them "get it"? DD doesn't really understand the whole baby thing (she thinks she has a baby in her belly too) . We are doing an elective u/s with DH's entended family and are in the fence about whether it could scare DD or even be beneficial? Any experience or advice on this? fWIW, DD has never been to any type of Drs appt with me so I think she might be curious as to what is going on with the u/s etc. tIA
Re: 3/4d U/S with a toddler
Nolan (and Linc) came to a bunch with Gwen. Linc did not get it (he was 10 months when she was born) but we told Nolan we were seeing "baby princess" on the TV. He seemed to get that we were watching her on TV, and that was about it. I do not think it helped him grab the concept any more though. We told him there was a baby in mom's tummy that was growing so she could come out and live with him.
Then when in the NICU, we repeated that she was eating and growing to be able to come home. He got it more and more as we talked about it.
