what works to eat when you wake up?

Looking for some suggestions on foods that people have eaten when they first get up that seem to help settle the stomach and keep food down.  thanks!

  • Honestly nothing works for me, but I do feel a lot better when I drink the mama to be tea (its a organic tea mix of mint and ginger) then when I get to work about 8:45 or 9 I have a turkey sandwich with tomatoes, salt and pepper with oil and vinegar no mayo or butter. I just recently started changing breads before I would get it on multi grain...good luck and I hope you feel better soon
  • I have not had any m/s yet...just dry heaves once. I usually eat a slice of toast with cheez whiz before I head out the door for work and then I eat yogurt/fruit for my break at work. I do keep crackers by my bedside...just incase! :) Hope you are feeling well!

  •   I usually eat a few saltines before I get out of bed and some water then about a half hour or so later plain yogurt, banana sometimes cereal works for me!  good luck

  • I agree, cereal helps me. Oh and for some reason Ramen noodles!! lol haha
  • Graham Crackers have helped me a lot.  It's different for everyone though.  With my daughter I couldn't eat cereal my whole pregnancy.  It didn't taste like it did before I got pregnant and I guess she just didn't like it.  You'll probably have to try and few different things until you find something that works for you!

  • Rice chex and chibani greek yogurt (keeps me full for about 2 hours and knocks out the m/s)

  • With DD1 - I would eat 1/2 a granola bar as soon as I got up.  With this one its a glass of milk and graham crackers dipped in PB.

  • I have been just having toast with some butter. Some mornings are better than others in terms of food.

  • Haven't had full blown m/s yet, but aa few minor spouts of nausea. Peppermint tea seemed to help :)

  • I haven't really had it yet this time.  But last time, I would just eat a piece of bread, it was bland and worked quickly.

    I second the wheat toast with butter.  2 slices with my vitamins and I'm good until around 10-10:30 when I have some greek yogurt or fruit.

  • Light yogurt mixed with granola or blueberries
  • Quaker Oatmeal Squares. I eat the cinnamon ones. They're subtle enough in taste but not totally drab so you aren't sitting there choking them down - that's how I felt with wheat toast. I was able to eat wheat toast no problem pre-pregnancy, but now it feels like I'm eating a piece of wood.

    What's this tea you speak of???? And where can I find it???
