Any Of You Had Blood Drawn Before And Didnt Feel The Needle?

I was getting myself prepped last night when they were drawing blood and my husband came along side of me to hold my hand. This girl was so good that I didnt even have time to react to the needle because she did it so fast. My husband was giving her compliments left and right about how fast she did it...lol. I have to admit I didnt feel a thing because she did it so fast. I had to ask if she had put the needle in yet! Wow! It was amazing...lol, Just thought I would share :)

  • For sure! Before I got pregnant i'd donate platelets and that involved keeping a needle in my arm from 2-3 hours. and it was a bigger one. so i was used to needle sticks. they dont hurt and my phlebotomist was so good that i didn't even feel it go in. glad you didn't feel anything! that means she is great at what she does!

  • Yeah, that happened for me once during the routine blood tests before I met my doc. I was so surprised b/c I have a little fear of needles & tend get dizzy when I see the blood, needles, & feel the pinch. But I didn't feel the needle at all that time. awesome!

  • Yep-once-it rocked!
  • Yep, after I had my blood drawn after finding out it was twins I was completely out of it and not even paying attention to what the tech was doing, lol.  Easiest blood draw ever!

  • Yes, my last blood draw for the AFP test I didn't feel the needle. She was by far the best I've seen, and really nice too. She kept complementing how well I was carrying at 17 weeks.

  • I have tiny veins. Sometimes they use a pediatric needle (butterfly needle) on me, and I don't feel it.
  • I had that happen at the doctors for the first time. I also donate blood so i am used to the feeling. She did it I didn't feel it I asked her if I could come to her always. She told me sure however the OB has and on staff and it's not her. She works in the overall lab. Sad It was the best experience ever.
