I know I should probably know this being a nurse and all (but I don't go around feeling my patients cervix's!)
I think I just felt it but I have no idea what I am doing so I just laughed at myself for having my finger up there and had to stop! How can you tell it it's open/closed/high/low?
Please give me the low down.
Re: What does your cervix feel like?
It all feels the same to me...and I usually end up walking out of the bathroom giggling and telling DH how I just randomly fingered myself! lol
Good question. I am also interested in the answers/insight!
It constantly changes texture and position. During your non fertile time, it will fill like the tip of your nose and as you near ovulation it will get softer and more open like lips. If I were you, I would focus more on how soft/hard it feels because after having a LO it is very hard to tell if it is open or closed and will probably just confuse you (as it does me lol).
Over time you will begin to notice all the small changes over the course of your cycle but there is a learning curve so just give it time.
Make sure you check it at the same time in the same way everyday. I do it before a bath and I use latex gloves since I bite my fingernails and am at a higher risk for introducing bacteria up there.

I have no idea.
This is sort of related (and real pictures of every cycle day for this particular person but if you are a nurse, medical pics should be no big deal..but others it is real pics of one's cervix..)

I find this really interesting and maybe you might get some help from it
I actually do go around feeling patient's cervixes:) I took me awhile to figure out that I was feeling for, but once you find it, you will not miss it again
The cervix is much smoother and firmer than the vaginal walls and protrudes into the vagina. Depending on the tilt of your uterus is where you will find the cervix. The center of the cervix is the os. It feels like a dimple right in the center. I think that it is kind of hard to tell if it is open or closed because there is such a slight change.
In terms of height, you can determine this by how far it protrudes into the vagina. There may be some days that you feel it no problem, and others that you can barely reach it
If it makes you feel any better, I have a hard time checking my own cervix...you have to get in a funny position and, depending on where your cervix is, it can be tough to reach.
Thanks for sharing - this is pretty awesome! Well, not sure awesome is the word I'm looking for...but you know what I mean.
