Update: No Homestudy needed :)

I posted yesterday about this ridiculous requirement by the state of TX for intended parents using a gestational carrier to complete a homestudy.

I called an attorney who specializes in reproductive assistance (adoptions, surrogacy contracts, donor eggs, etc.)  She said they have always been able to get the courts to waive the homestudy requirement.  

Whew!

Not that it would have been an issue... I just don't want to pay for it and waste time messing around w/ social workers and home visits, etc.  

Yay! We're movin' on :))) 

After THREE years, our IVF miracle is here!!!

    Homestudy for your own bio child?  That seems a bit strange.  I'm so glad they can wave it.  Now if its a traditional surrogacy or donor embryos I totally can see why they require it, bc it would be like a regular adoption....in my opinion.  I'm so happy for you!
