Success after IF

What do you feed your "independent eaters"?

My LOs will be 11 mo in about a week and they're very much into finger foods right now.  I feel like I'm always giving them the same things though, so I'm looking for more ideas.  I feel like I'm always giving them rotisserie chicken or meatballs for protein, cheese, yogurt, lots of fruits and veggies, and their very favorite, pasta and peas with butter and cheese.  Oh and of course, good ol' graham crackers, Ritz crackers, and toast/french toast.  They're very hot and cold (mostly cold) on beans but otherwise they aren't picky.  I know I'm missing millions of options...

  • I have found this website to be invaluable:

We give the girls what we eat. It did mean that we modified our diets a little to allow for us to make nutritious meals that they could physically eat.

I would have said beans. We do avocado a lot, ground trukey is a hit. He also likes raviolli and PB &J.

  • A lot of the things you do!    I also regularly give her hummus on toast, and peanut butter (we introduced PB at 11 months with no problems).   Or "sandwiches" with cream cheese and sliced turkey (I nuke it until it is steaming first for good measure).   Oh, and I also bought some fish sticks from whole foods to vary up the protein source, and she also gets soy products (tofu, soy meatballs, soy based "chicken" nuggets), black bean burgers, or other vegetarian meat substitutes from time to time.   She also gets our leftovers when we have them, so whatever we eat!
