If you got a bfp with a short luteal phase

I got preg w/ DS on first try but I think my lp got shorter since. I've been charting and using cbfm for 3 months now and it seems like lp is 10 days (no spotting...just AF on day 11). I know about b6 and all that and will try that next cycle if get AF.

How short was your lp? how long did it take to get preg? what did you do to get preg (bbt/cbfm/opk/nothing?)? TIA

My LP was about 10 days, with a good deal of spotting starting at 7 dpo. I had to go on clomid to fix it, and I got my BFP the first cycle I was on clomid. We'd been trying about a year before we got our BFP (using bbt, cbefm, and opks). GL!

  • I was around 10-11 days for my LP and it took me 7 cycles of charting and taking my temperature.
  • I have an 11 day LP and with my son it took us 3 months trying, this time around we weren't trying, surprise! I did use OPK's though and pre-seed for sure with both!! Love that stuff!!! GL!

  • We TTC for 3 years, but did not realize I had a short lp (9 to 10 days) until this past December. My doctor put my on progestrone and we got pregnant in April. You will need to speak with your doctor on what they can do to help you. GL!!

  • We tried for about 7 months of me "loosely" charting, then I started bbt & opk's.  That's when I realized my LP was only about 6-7 days.  My doctor's office didn't want to do anything about it until after a year of trying, so I bought some OTC Progesterone cream and used it twice a day from the day I O'd... first cycle of trying that I got my BFP, so I think that it worked.

  • I had a wonky luteal phase 8-9-15 days.... Mind you now the 15 is with BFP. I took B6, and couldn't believe how long my LP was. I got a bfn on Monday and it was longer than any LP I've ever had. I sincerely think B6 is the reason I'm here.
  • My LP started at 8 days my first month charting. The next month I started taking b6 and it went up a day, the next month it went up 2 days so I was sitting at a 10 day LP. I then read an article that said taking b12 in conjunction with b6 helps it to be much more affective. At that point I started taking a b12 supplement along with the 100mg of b6. That mont my LP shot up to 13 days. The next month 14 days. Then the next month I got my BFP. (the 13 day LP and 14 day LP cycles were during a deployment so we couldnt TTC at that point or else Im pretty sure I wouldve gotten pregnant then).

Honestly, I dont think Id be pregnant today if it hadnt been for those supplements. It changed my entire body. I went from not Oing at all, to Oing regularly every month, a perfect LP, went from NO EWCM at all to a TON of EWCM, low 2WW temps to HIGH 2WW temps. It totally changed my body for the better.

All in all, with my short LP, it took us 10 months (counting out the deployment cycles) to get KU. And the only thing I really did that helped was chart, take the right supplements, make sure my weight was at a good place, and eat nutritious. We didnt even have great timing with sex during my BFP cycle because I thought we were out for the month due to a ruptured cyst.

I highly suggest either seeing a DR for a short LP or trying B6. Just keep in mind it takes several months for supplements to start making a big difference in your body so you must be patient.

    GL.

  • I had a short lp. Only about 8-10 days. My last cycle was 26 days and I o'd on cd 19/20. When that happened I started using progesterone cream twice daily and lo and behold after 18 mo ttc. I finally got my bfp at 12 dpo. I used opk also. But I truly attribute this bfp to starting that progesterone cream.

  • I was rockin the 7 day LP which was awesome...if you never want to conceive.  I went to my doctor after 6 months and they turned me away. I started charting, temping, opks and then a few months later took my charts to the doctor.  They agreed that a 7day LP would be pretty darn impossible to get pregnant with so they started me on the lowest dose of Clomid and I was monitored. I was pregnant with twins the first month.  GL!

  • My LP was 10 days with spotting starting at 8 or 9 DPO. I had two m/c's before this pg.

The last two cycles (including the one where I got pg), I drank POM juice from CD1 until confirmed O. My dr put me on progesterone supplements at my first visit - I'm not convinced it is what made my pregnancy work out because I was almost 6w along. Regardless, this pregnancy is going well.
