I just researched information on bug repellents for baby and found (on babycenter.com) that the CDC recommends using something with no more than 30% DEET/ or Picaridin since the natural lemon eucalyptus isn't recommended until age 3. AAP says bug repellent is ok after 2 months of age.
But when I go online to find a baby-friendly bug repellent all the ones that seem to be baby-friendly specifically say DEET-free and do contain lemon and eucalyptus when I check the ingredients.
Of course, I'll have to do more research but I know there are some skin experts out there who may have a quick answer. What bug repellent should I use for my 5 month old?
TIA!
Re: Which bug repellent for baby?
We use long clothes for now. After LO is 6 months I'll use the same thing I use on myself: long, light clothing (like linen) and All Terrain spray, which is herbal. Also, here is a great resource for checking out products for ingredients and related concerns): https://www.ewg.org/skindeep/search.php?query=insect+repellent (though it sounds like you are already a great researcher).
