I don't usually do this, but...

...I have to AW the fact that I started C25K today, and even though I think I need a sports bra for my jiggly a$$, it felt awesome. I wonder if having Bel Biv Devoe blaring on my ancient, gigantic iPod was what made the difference...and whether, if I keep this up, I too will have a "body stronger than Bacardi."

That is all.

  • Welcome to the club ;o)  I also recently "graduated" and will be working on improving my time by trying to run a little further each day during my 30 minutes.  Working up to running 10k's and also maybe half-marathons (eventually... maybe).

It feels really good to run again.  I haven't done it in almost 6 years!  C25K really helped to ease me back in.  It makes me really happy to see all these posts about C25K.

  • Is this the couch potato to 5K plan? I need to start. I was talked into doing the dirty girl mud run in August. I've tried the program before and never got too far. I just can't breathe when I run. (Stupid asthma.) Hopefully this time will be different.

  • Good! I started it in January, but didn't stick to the 9 weeks due to sickness. I eventually made it to week 8 but took a break to cross-train. Now I'm doing it again to increase my speed(and thus, my distance). I really like the interval training so I think I'll keep that up. The sense of accomplishment after each run makes it awesome, right?

  • This is a really stupid question, but is there a book for this?  I have googled and not come up with anything that was helpful.  I already run but would like to actually follow a program so I'm consistent and get better.

    TIA.

  • appletini, go to coolrunning.com and click on Couch to 5k, to get the recommended weekly running programs.  If you have an mp3 player, I used Robert Ullrey's free running podcast, info at ullreys.com.  There are apps for it too, but I didn't use any of those. HTH!
