I've had people recommend the BOB revolution baby stroller - I would like a jogger, b/c I plan to use it on some uneven terrain, and I might use it to jog. I will spend good money on a product only if it is really worth it. So the BOB revolution I'm looking at is over $400, the Jeep Liberty stroller is $180.
I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if the BOB is really worth more than $200 more than the Jeep Liberty??
I'm not the type to search all over at garage sales and consignment shops for a good deal (shopping is not my favorite weekend activity), so suggesting searching for a used BOB is not the advice I'm looking for.
Re: Jeep vs BOB baby strollers??
The biggest difference -- the BOB is a true jogging stroller, while the Jeep Liberty is not. It says so on Jeep's website, and also on the box -- word for word, it says: This is not intended to be used as a jogging stroller. So if you're a serious runner or plan on jogging regularly, the BOB is worth the money. If you mainly want the off road capabilities, the Jeep may work perfectly fine for your needs. Many people do jog with the Jeep, but it's not recommended by the manufacturer....and I, personally, wouldn't run with it.
Read the reviews on Amazon and elsewhere -- BOBs get rave reviews, while the Jeep's are so-so. The BOB is a tried and true jogging/all terrain stroller, and the Jeep just doesn't have the same quality...or reputation.
Jeep does make an actual jogging stroller, but it's a bit pricier. And again, it just doesn't have the reputation that BOB has.
FWIW, we thought seriously about getting the Jeep, but vetoed it once playing with it in a store. It just felt too cheaply made.
I've had both and the BOB is definitely worth the money. The Jeep is cheaper, and you get what you pay for. If you are going to use it on uneven terrain and jog with it, go for the BOB.
This.
Also consider, the BOB has an excellent resale value, the Jeep does not. When you are done with it, you can post it on craigslist for $200-250 and EASILY sell it same day! I bought mine used for $200, and the lady that I bought it from said she got 20-30 emails in under 8 hours for the thing! So the BOB will have a really good return on your investment when you're done with it
I just got a 2010 BOB Revolution on an Amazon Flash Deal for $290 -- no tax/free shipping. I have taken DD for a spin in it, and driven her 5 yo BFF around in it too -- she's probably 55+ lbs. It is SO head and shoulders above anything else I have tried/used. Worth every cent. I may even be able to resell it for what I paid, or close to it.
Keep your eyes peeled. The Flash Deals come along every once and awhile. It's $379 normally on there. You don't get to pick the color but a deal is a deal.

I bought the Baby Jogger Summit over the BOB. It's slightly less expensive but offers some additional features the Revolution does not have.
Here's a few reasons I chose the Summit:
-Easier, more compact fold
-Handbrake in addition to parking brake
-Shocks on all three wheels instead of just on the front
-accessories fit many other Baby Jogger strollers and since we are considering getting a City Mini also, only purchasing one car seat adapter, etc. is appealing.
-Less popular than the BOB - petty, I know. I like to be a little bit different.
ETA: I also don't like the fabric on the 2011 BOBs.
I just bought a 2011 Bob Rev, it should be here this week and I cannot wait. From experience you do get what you pay for in strollers. I used to think every stroller is the same, silly to spend hundreds on one. Not so. I bought a cheap stroller initially and my son and I walk all the time and it was horrible, so I ended up doing research and bought a Bugaboo Frog, like night and day. So I would say if you are looking for a truly good stroller that is going to handle rough terrain, that you can really jog with and that isn't going to be difficult to maneveur, then spend the extra money, you will not regret it one bit.
FYI: If you order from Baby Checklist, use coupon code BCTENTEN to get 10% off the 2011 BOB Rev, they have free shipping. It was the best price I could find.
Sometimes REI has sales, they just had one and I did check it out, but it was cheaper for me to go with Baby Checklist. Once I factored in the member fee and their shipping charge, it ended up costing the same.
We also considered the Jeep and Bob. We got the Jeep and love it. We have used it now for a month for walks on sidewalks, pavement and in the park and couldn't be happier. The front wheel locks in the front if necessary for jogging. We do not jog, however, so I cannot speak to that purpose.
I find it to be extremely secure, smooth, and comfortable for DH and I both to use. We have the Chicco Keyfit for DS and it even fits right in. It is heavy, however, so it is not our every day stroller for errands. Because we use it as a second stroller, we especially did not want to spend what the Bob costs, although if you will be using the Bob as your every day (my friend does), then I would say invest the $$.
