Today is DD's 3rd day at the pool & the 1st two times, I have been in the pool with her, so I did a quick shower with her to get the chlorine & sunscreen off, then lotion her up & put her clothes back on. It takes quite a while - at least 45 min after the pool, so I'm wondering what everyone else is doing? I'd like something that takes the shortest amount of time, but that also gets the chlorine & sunscreen off of her. TIA!
Re: What's your after-pool clean up routine?
We have a pool at home, but after I take off their swimsuit and swim diaper and dry them off, I change their clothes and diaper. I also wipe the sunscreen off their face but wait to give them a bath till the night time.
Also, our pool doesn't have a chlorine smell but if I did, I would probably give them a bath then.
Don't ask my DH's opinion though, b/c he tells me the pool is good enough for their bath
Honestly. . . not much, right now (although I might end up regretting it!) They both wear rash guards, so they don't have a ton of sunscreen on. We just change out of the swimsuits into dry onesies - they usually crash out after pool time for a long nap, so we just deal with a bath in the evening.
Well, mine is a little different because it is still too cold here for outside pools.
DS1 has been in swim lessons for the last few months at an indoor community pool so there is no need for sunscreen. His skin is pretty dry normally and I have a hard time getting him to not scratch the heck out of his skin so I have him shower after every swim lesson and I apply lotion. I don't wash his hair though, I just rinse it and wait until his next bath to shampoo the chlorine out. The whole process from end of class to when we are in the car is ~30 minutes.
After he is out of his swim suit, but before he goes into the shower, I apply the foam soap. This prevents me from having to get wet in the shower and saves a little time.
I just change them out of their suits into dry clothes and make sure they have a bath that night to scrub the sunscreen/chlorine off them.
They wear sunscreen all day every day here and we are always going inside and outside to play. Maybe I am lazy, but I don't want to bathe them everytime we come in only to reapply sunscreen a few hours later.
