It seems like I remember us talking about it...maybe SeaSoul's Cal went through this, if I remember correctly?
Anyway, the last few days have been hard on us. Caroline doesn't want to go to bed, and it is getting to be a problem. I was in there 3 times last night before she would go to sleep.
I put her down and she's fine, and she tosses and turns for awhile, then stands up in the corner of her crib nearest the door and cries for me. I go in, rock her for a few minutes and reassure her, then put her back down awake...rinse and repeat this cycle until she finally goes to sleep. Last night we did it three times...
In the mornings, she used to wake up and roll around her crib, talking to herself for 30 minutes or an hour...now, she stand up, goes to the corner of her crib nearest the door and screams. What's up with that??
She's also waking up at night. Just once last night, but two nights ago, we were up for 2+ hours.
I don't mind rocking her...and she's getting over an ear infection, so I'm not going to re-Ferber any time soon...but what's up with my kid?? She's learning new words every day (sometimes 4 or 5 a day) and I wondered if that was it, or if this really is some sort of sleep regression?
Thoughts?
Re: Is there an 18 month sleep regression? (long)
Over the last year we have had a handful of "spells" where Lilah has sleep issues. It last for 2-3 days and then we are back to normal. If we you are going past a week of bad sleep I would consider re-training. But for us it was just a short spell. In our case I think Lilah wasn't getting all the attention she needed during the day because of the baby. So I think this was part of our problem.
Good luck!!
