Post-baby exercise

I am about 34 weeks right now and have a question for all you 2nd timers about post partum exercise. I have heard the Dr will clear you for exercise somewhere around the 6 week postpartum mark. Now is that to get back to strenuous exercise (assuming he gives the go-ahead at that point) or is that just for anything? I am super active and can't picture not even going walking for 6 weeks! I get that running, biking won't be too likely, but does the no exercise extend to everything?

    I started walking on the treadmill with DS2 in the Bjorn around 3 weeks.  My bleeding had significantly slowed down by then and I felt good walking.  I got the OK to run at my 6 week appt. which I happily went home and did.  My OB told me to start slowly and to listen to my body.  I think you just need to listen to your body.  I wouldn't go out and run right away, but do what you feel comfortable doing.  Your body will let you know when you've done too much.
