We have been giving him a regular salad fork or an appetizer one that we have, since it's his perfect size. None of the toddler ones will pick up food, since the prongs aren't poky.

I've seen one fork by Gerber (I think) that's metal and the outside tongs sort of turn "in". Those work too. But since the salad forks seem to wokr just fine, I'm not going to buy any. He likes to use "big kid" stuff now...
Yeah, we have that set. It's a joke, depending on the food. I am thinking i am just going to deal with the fork issue, but find some cute plates. I picked up a few halloween ones yesterday at Fred Meyer's, and will do the same for Thanksgiving and Christmas, those we can use next year too.

I have toy ones. haha. what a cheapo I am. I saw them at Target in those $1 bins. They are supposed to be for dolls, but I use them for Tillman. Tillman uses regular salad forks and teaspoons, too. We use the ikea spoons sometimes, because he likes the colored ones, but the forks don't work.

TTC #2 for a million years: SA normal, CD 23 bloodwork shows nothing amiss, ovulation detected. Next step: ? maybe CD3 bloodwork to check eggs? All out of pocket, so limited IF tests/treatments.
I found some cute plastic plates at Target a couple weeks ago. I think they were meant for entertaining, but they are perfect for DD. DD uses a salad fork most of the time, but our silverware is heavy, so she also has a gerber fork that has a plastic handle and metal fork. For spoons she just uses the cheap plastic spoon that are "take and toss" or plastic spoons.
Other then the plates, she uses our glass bowls and sometimes the plates too, but we aren't too worried about breakage, since we want to get rid of the set anyways.

We use the Corelle stuff that is almost impossible to break. We use it for our everyday stuff too. Forks we also just use the small metal ones....the only other thing I can think of is wood forks, like out of bambo.
