We're trying to combine, making sure M is getting calories to keep her weight up, and tried our first finger foods tonight - after pureed carrots. She loves strawberries!!
We're doing combined and just started 3 days ago, so no chance to offer finger foods yet.
How much puree are you giving? We started with about 1 tbsp of homemade peas, just because I didn't want to offer too much and him have a bad reaction. But I'm wondering if I'm being too conservative with the solids.
We have started. We have tried bananas, mango, avocado, white potato, sweet potato, apples, grapes, honeydew, watermelon, spinach, summer squash, eggplant, sweet peppers, white fish, and steak.
I am not following the color rules, or concerned about introducing too many foods too quickly. We don't have any family history of food allergies, and I am following his lead on what he is interested in. Some things I use the food net for (like grapes) because it would be too difficult for him to "chew" these to get them down. I will say that I have avoided anything with eggs, cows milk, or nuts because of the high liklihood of developing a sensitivity if introduced too soon.
For the most part, he likes everything we have had. He was not a fan of bananas but he loved guacamole...

What you should do is give them the same amount of the same kind of baby food for a week, as only eating a little tiny bit once a day wont show an allergic reaction. Start with apples, then pears, the avacado, peas, peaches, prunes, squash, banana, zuchini. But only ONE food a week.
Re: BLW - anyone started yet?
