This year, in my home town, I have seen at least 3 or 4 baby girls named Blakely. Until this year, I had never heard of this name. It doesn't look or sound very feminine to me, but I guess it's not the worst I've seen. So is this a local thing or is this name on the rise? (I live in the south)
Re: Is this a local trend?
I know a few Blakelys (one is a dog, the rest are girls). I'm in the South, too. It is the name of a town in Georgia, and I think the popularity of it is fueled by the rise of actress Blake Lively and the -ly trend.
There aren't any around here...
I'm hoping it's not a name for baby girls that's on the rise
It's too masculine for me!

Isn't that Ryan & Trista's baby's name? (Bachelorette Trista.) Or maybe that's Blakesley.
I don't know any, and I'm glad. Blech.
