Do I Wake Them From Nap? Keep Them Up?

DD is signed up for some summer programs a few mornings a week (from 9-12). The babies typically go down for a nap at 8:00 AM. Do I go on and put them down, and then wake them 40 minutes later so we can head out?  Or do I keep them up until 9:15 (when we get home)and then put them down? They are really fussy by 8, so I am not sure keeping them up would even work. But it seems mean to wake them from a nap, especially when they are sleeping hard.

I know things are different now that I have more than one child. With my older daughter we scheduled everything around naps, and I never disrupted that schedule. Now it's not so easy.

  • Oh that's a toughie -

Is there any other option?  Can someone come over and "watch" the sleeping babies for 20 min while you run out and drop off DD?

I wouldn't try and push the twins until 9:15 - usually when I do that I end up with two sleeping babies in the car and then I'm stuck!

  • That's a tough one. I would try to find someone to drive DD to her activities so you can stay home and keep the babies on a schedule or to stay with the sleeping babies while you drive her. I would look for a reliable, mature college student. It wouldn't cost very much and would be worth the price to keep everyone well rested and happy.

  • Only thing I can think of is if babies are still in infant seats, when you put them down, have them nap in seats so easy to transfer when dropping off DD#1.  GL
