When DD moved to the 1-yr. old room in daycare, she went to one nap a day. But she would still nap twice a day at home. Then, around 18 mos., she dropped the 2nd nap.
She's always been a heavy napper though. She's now 3 and will take 2-3 hour naps on the weekends and a 2-hour nap at school.

14 or 15 months. It was when she moved into the 1 year old at daycare. They only take one nap a day there. She sleeps about 10-12 hours at night and then takes a 1 - 2 hour nap during the day.

Yep, this is Gavin exactly. In fact, he will sometimes take a 4 hour nap at home. I cross my fingers daily that it lasts!
I think he would take more than one if he was able to. But shuffling to/from daycare, he gets one big ole' nap a day. This started probably around 10 mths.
My friends with kids have all told me it coincides with when they start walking. Not sure if that is true or just coincidence within my group, but it seems to work that way.
