That whole thing with D&R last night? I thought it was obnoxious. Sure, she posted a pointless intro, but was it really so bad that she had to be followed over there, schooled on the rules of the Internet, and then warned all ominously that botb never forgets? It's not like she came in here and kicked everyone's puppies.

eh, while I think clearly people are just bored, it's totally fair game when they biitch on other boards. I do feel like 1st time posters can get the short end of the stick sometimes, because as much as we say you should lurk, we all know it doesn't happen. I do sympathize with Caff though, it feels like whenever you go out of your way to be nice they turn out to be crazycakes. Such is life.

Someone from D&R stopped over to say hi and that she was beginning TTC.  She got some snark among the good advice and ran back to D&R to tell them that BotB is a bunch of meanies.

OH she's from the dectorating board?  I was going to post pictures to get idea for our bedroom, but maybe I'll post them here.   I can't figure out a good set up.

I did realize this weekend that our walls are now bump green though.  I was drawn to that color, and now I know why.

I don't remember your exact wording, and I wouldn't necessarily biitchy, but it certainly didn't come off as friendly advice when I read it.

What irked me about her, and as I said yesterday on the thread(s) in question, is that she received exactly the same advice (on netiquette and TTC) both here and there - buy a BBT and chart, read TTOYF, lurk.  But somehow, BOTB was rude for saying it and D&R wasn't.

Ah. I wasn't really intending to be "friendly" per se, so I guess that's a fair statement. D&R is flat out notorious for being  completely puppies and rainbows and screaming about how mean the rest of the boards are, so anything less than "Hiiii!!! Welcome!!!! We SPPH newbies!!" will be generally less than well-received by them, so I felt that a warning was a good place to start, esp since that particular poster is very new and I'd never seen her on D&R, really, either. In fact, posters from D&R have done stuff like this on BOTB/TTGP at least a few times in my recollection--there are two regs there now that ran away from BOTB after being called out for stupid comments.

Another case in point: someone recently posted a poll about what color yoga mat she should buy. Someone else responded "why do we need a post about this?" and it spun off into three threads about how D&R isn't so nice anymore and how rude everyone is. 

It's just totally different there-- even compared to the rest of the Nest boards.

Just to clarify... Are you denying that you are rude or biitchy to newbs on a regular basis? I think you're crazy, but I never thought you were a liar.

Excuse me? Never denied that in the grand scheme of things I've been rude and biitchy in the past but I certainly wasn't in that post. Further, I've hardly been around at all in the last six months or so, so "on a regular basis" pretty much means nothing.

Interesting because it seems like you pop up in almost all of the new poster posts.

What's "interesting" is that you seem to have kept a running tally of where you think I post but yet you didn't realize that a) I've not been here, save for a post or two here and there, in ages and b) that I post in all the newb posts? I can't even remember a newb post aside from last night's in quite awhile.

I had surgery and a complication and some pretty serious shyt going down with my health for the past several months. So yeah, definitely "interesting" that you seem to think I'm around and harassing newbs every day.
