Undescended testicles

Has anyone's son had any problems with this at all? At Coop's 18mth check up they weren't sure that both were there and descended so they told us to wait until his 2 yr check up to see (Our ped'n said they were both present at birth!)

Anyway Coop had his 2 yr old check up on Monday and the nurse was now 99% sure that both were there but one was still up in his abdomen. They have now sent us for a referral because if it is not there he will need surgery :(

Has anyone got any information about how this went at all? Was your son in pain at all and was it a simple procedure? I guess I am just worried about poor little Coop & what kind of pain he may be in after/suring surgery. Fingers crossed they find both his testies :) Thanks girls!

Re: Undescended testicles

  • Same thing happened w/ my friend's son and it was no big deal at all. He had to be careful of his parts for a few days but pretty strightforward. Nothing to worry about. :)

  • Someone we know had to have the surgery on their son and all went well. I hope they can just find them both and he doesn't have to have it!

  • My friend's son had that done and I don't think it was a big deal - I think he was younger though?  But maybe not.... Anyway, it's pretty routine, so don't be worried.

  • From reading the pp's, it sounds like it's not a difficult procedure. I hope they drop on their own, or that the dr is able to make a different diagnosis, but if not, I hope it goes ok for you all.
