For a straight-up breakfast, probably not. For brunch I would probably have some kind of dessert, since it's a combination of breakfast and lunch and dessert after lunch isn't weird, IMO.
My family members have been known to eat apple pie for breakfast (and nothing else) but that's more of a holiday splurge meal than a regular event. What can I say, my family loves apple pie!
I probably wouldn't serve it, but it's not that different if you think of it than coffee cake, donuts, or cinammon rolls --- all sweets and all thought of as breakfast foods.
Re: Pie for breakfast?!
I would not.
But I wouldn't take offense if I was the guest!
