Repel issues VENT

I am so upset.  All our BG & FBs repel.  I have done everything "right"  I hand scrubbed each diaper with a dawn & a nail brush then rinsed & rinsed.  I though for sure that would do it but they still repel.  I am just using all my pockets like covers, laying prefolds in them.

I guess it is what it is.  I wanted to love my pockets but I have had such bad luck. 

My bamboo BG never repels but it was really $$$ so DS just uses it at night.

They're not absorbing anything?  What detergent are you using?  What's your normal wash routine?

They hardly absorb.  The pee just rolls off & out the top/ legs.  DS is always all wet & the fleece will be wet with a dry insert.

I use Rockin' Green.  I do a cold rinse, hot wash & two cold rinses, just like the instructions on the bag say.

Did you buy them new or used?  If they're new, there's nothing that should cause them to repel at first (if they've always repelled - or did they work for a while?).  If they've always leaked, it really could be a fit issue in that if he has skinny legs it just isn't soaking through the fleece fast enough. 

(Some force and/or pressure is required to get the pee to absorb through the fleece or suedecloth, and if the fit is loose, it will leak before wicking through the top layer.

Are you using OS or perfect size FBs?  Have you adjusted the rise on the BGs?  

(I'm just trying to brainstorm some ideas that may help )
