I personally have not.. but my Fi had his 3 kids there, his mother had 5/9 kids there, and FSIL had her 3 kids there. they all SWEAR by UofM. they Dr they all saw is no longer accepting new patients. we tried to get in to see him with this baby, but no can do
I don't have any stories in particular, just that they just swear by the place and love it. We'd have our baby there, but it's a 45 minute drive so we opted for a closer hospital.
Best of luck.

I had my little guy there in March and absolutely loved the experience. I did have a nurse or two that weren't my favorite during my 5 days there (2 days of labor + c/s recovery), but overall I can't say enough good things about the hospital and staff. I found that everyone was very supportive and encouraging and did their best to help me have the birth that I wanted. I used the midwives and saw Kathy Bedikian out of Canton Health Center for all my prenatals. Would absolutely recommend her or any of the other midwives.
If you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to try and answer them.
I also used the midwives and delivered at UofM. I saw several midwives at the east ann arbor practice. I planned to have a natural delivery, but ended up having some complications. I felt very well taken care of in the emergency situation, and despite being scared, was glad that my baby and I were at the U. The OB/GYN doctors on call and anesthesia were very professional.
That being said, I've heard the rooms are nicer at St. Joe's, but the renovations are almost done at the university.
