Anyone else in New England picking ticks off DAILY!!???

Seriously, we're 3 for 3 this holiday weekend, me on Friday and DD#2 on Sat and Sun. Disgusting.....all three required tweezers and good tug. Heads were burrowed and the fvckers feet are squirming away trying to dig in deeper.  How can you not feel these mini vampires on you? I.HATE.TICKS!! We are keeping each one and labelling with the date and who they came off of just in case any of us experience lyme symptoms. It really ruins outdoors for me. Sigh.

  • Yes. They are ridiculous this year because of all the rain.  I have to inspect my black dog and dark brown dog about 5 times daily as well as us.
  • We had our lawn sprayed (all natural stuff), and it appears to be working. Knock on wood but I haven't pulled any off the kids, me, or the dogs since we had it sprayed.

  • Ugh, this is not what I want to read.  We're moving up to CT on Friday and the house we're moving into is on a wooded lot.  I'm not a fan of creepy, bitey things, especially since my youngest tends to have pretty severe reactions to bug bites.

  • City dweller here - never seen one!
  • We're in the midwest, but they are bad here as well. Both DD#1 & DD#2 have had ticks in them (and both were at the nape of their necks), requiring removal by tweezer. I agree with pp that it has been very wet here and the ticks, mosquitoes, etc. all seem to be worse this year. :( I am hoping they get to be less as the summer goes on.

I'd spray your property or get used to it.

My cousin lives in East Lyme and we have to pick ticks off the kids every time we visit.
