How many weeks will you be at your shower?

My sister is hosting mine and keeps saying August. This makes me a little nervous- but it is her deal so I am not going to argue or anything. But, that puts me at 34 or 35 weeks and I worry this is cutting it very close- not to mention I will be really uncomfortable.

How far along will you be for yours and what do you think about waiting until 34 or 35 weeks?

I'll be 31 weeks at my shower. I think waiting until 34 weeks isn't cutting it too close...but I wouldn't wait too much past that!

I'll be a little over 33 weeks when my shower comes around (I just realized that)- end of July. I'd prefer it more at 29 or 30, but of course, as you said, it's someone else's deal (also my sister's), and the most convenient date.

This is my first pregnancy, so I don't have any "professional" thoughts on a shower at 34/35 weeks, but it does seem to be an issue of being uncomfortable. My friend is 28 weeks and already miserable, so I can't see waiting much longer than that.

I'll be 33.5. Maybe it'll give us something to look forward to while we're totally miserable those extra weeks??

I have one in 2 weeks (26 weeks) and one on July 30 or 31st (32 or so weeks I think). I requested not to have one in August since I don't want to be too uncomfortable. I'm not great at being the center of attention at these things and I can only imagine being uncomfortable on top of that.

I will be 32 weeks at mine. I was hoping for 30 weeks but like you said someone else is throwing it so can't argue. and it's only a 2 week difference.I don't think there is anything wrong with waiting until closer to your due date. It just means you will have a little less time to get everything ready. But if your pregnancy is going well and your dr. isn't worried about pre-term labor then 35 weeks should be fine. The only reason I wanted mine early is because Im already having contractions and im a high risk pregnancy. I just wanted to make sure I get to be involved in setting up her nursery and that everything is ready if she comes early. hoping to make it to 37 weeks but my ob has already said he wouldn't stop labor if I was at 35 weeks. I think if you are really worried about having it in Aug then you should explain that to your sister and see if she will have it a little earlier just to calm your nerves.

Im thinking I will be about 33 weeks..My mom is throwing it and won't tell me the exact date because she wants it to be a surprise!  lol but she said prob. beginning of August.  So I don't think 34 is too late-(although I am a ftm) I would rather have mine earlier as well but it's not up to me and I'm just grateful to be getting a shower.

Mine is August 27th so I'll be right around 36 wks.It will be a later evening type coed get together. Our summers are DREADFUL!! Like 114 degrees...So the later evening would be ideal and we are doing a backyard BBQ for the guys diaper party/poker tournament and the gals will be inside in the air. I'm looking forward to it and since I'm already home all the time I'm not worried about not having time to get stuff ready. Plus, I have tons of help if I need it from family to friends. The best part though is they aren't overbearing so I can say that I don't need help and they aren't pushy.

I will be 30 weeks, I think waiting after that is kinda cutting it close, plus I have to fly home to go to my shower, so I really don't want to be traveling after that.

I will be 32 weeks at my shower. I think that it's more of a comfort thing, but for me its also a planning thing. I am extremely organized and planned out. The thought of having a shower when I'm too close gives me anxiety..Once we have the shower I will need to be able to still have time to go to the store to purchase items that I did not receive, and everything will need to be set up (ex, my parents already bought our crib, but everything else is on registry-bedding, etc. and will need to be washed and all put together) I guess I'm just overly organized and feel the need to have things planned and orderly.

I'll be 29 weeks. I don't think 34 to 35 weeks is too late as long as you don't have to travel far.

I'll be 28 weeks at my first shower coming up in a few weeks, and 31 weeks at my family shower in July.  I didn't want to be uncomfortable in August (or getting everything set up for the nursery at the last minute), and my brother is getting married in July, so mine are a bit on the early side.

Who knows...I already had a co-shower with one of DH's coworkers early this month, I'm thinking school might be having one soon, and I don't think my mom will be hosting one (possible future vent!). Before I was pregnant, my neighbors mentioned something about doing a little shower, but I haven't heard anything since.

I'll be at 35 weeks.  My sister and best friend are hosting at my mom's house.  They are being very unstressed and nonchalant about it, so I'm not going to let myself stress.  I hope they realize that at that late of a date I'm not going to be any help and will sit and let them bring me things.  That was their choice though.  We tend to go late in my family, so I'm not stressed about it.

I'll be 30 weeks to the day! For me this was my preferance, personally I wouldn't go over 32 weeks cause I've heard of a lot of moms not being able to attend their shower due to unforseen bed rest and premie births.

I also wanted time to unload and go through items so I am more comfortable with them (FTM) and everything has a space and put together so we don't feel rushed the last few weeks or if little one decides to come early we are ready.

28 weeks.  I wanted bare minimum 6-8 weeks between shower and EDD as i have a very busy work schedule (includes weekends) and didn't wwant to only have a couple weeks to get everything organized plus go out and buby what we still needed.

I will be 35w at mine. Part of the date choice was just when my BFF was available, but part of it was that I had been so nervous about doing anything baby related that she wanted to make sure I was pretty far along so I'd be comfortable having the shower.

I'll be 25 1/2 weeks at my first shower which I'm flying to next weekend, woot!  I dont' want to fly in August and I already have a long vacation planned in July so June 11 just worked out to be the best date. I'm happy  now because then I can start setting up stuff, seeing what things I don't get and buying them myself, etc. 

I'm also having a smaller shower that my MIL is throwing me at my house when I'm 35 1/2 weeks.  I actually didnt even think about the fact that i might be uncomfortable then.  I probably could have done a few weeks earlier, but I'll survive the afternoon I'm sure!  And I don't have to travel anywhere... and DH will just have to do all the prep cleaning

We are still trying to pin down a date, but I will probably be between 29 and 32 weeks along.  It will be interesting because the attendees will mostly be guys, as my husband is in the USCG, and I have only been here since September, so I haven't made a whole lot of friends.  But, it will still be a lot of fun.

Mine will be early august. I will be about 31-32 weeks am hoping to have a decent sized bump by then. I'm 22 weeks and it's barely there!

I will be 25 weeks at my first shower - it's at DH's work on 6/8. Then at my family shower I'll be 31 weeks. I also am having a friends shower where I'll be 32-34ish weeks (it hasn't been scheduled yet) and then a shower at my work somewhere around the same time I'm thinking.

I am feeling pretty blessed that I'm having four showers...even if I'd rather the later ones be a bit earlier. It is only May and 90 degrees today and it is misery to be out and about already!

I will be 24 weeks at my first one, my co-workers are throwing it. At my second one I will be 35 weeks and 2 days and its in my home city, which is 3 hours away from where I currently live...cutting it kinda of close, but I'm not worried...lol

I'll be 35 weeks for mine on July 30th.  It was just the best timing for me and my friends.  I figure it will be a month before my due date which seems like plenty of time for me.  Yeah I'll be a bit uncomfortable; however, I'll also have a lot of fun distractions too.    I'm having fun right now looking at baby shower stuff.  I know my friends are going to plan it mostly, but the stuff is just so fun to look at.

I will be 33 weeks at my first shower and 34 weeks at me second.  My sister (the host of the second shower) wanted to do it in the middle of August, but I vetoed that and I said I wanted it done before the end of July, so she chose July 31st. I think that is pretty normal around here.

I don't think it's a big deal. I will be getting married at 34 weeks, and my shower is not until 9 days before my due date. If I go into labor early, we will reschedule the shower until after the baby. No biggie. (except now Im getting nervous... lol)

I'll be 35 or 36 weeks. It just happens to be the weekend that works the best for everyone. The alternative was at 29 weeks and I felt like that was a little early. There's still a lot of cleaning and organizing we need to do in our tiny one bedroom apartment before bringing lots of baby things in here. So having the shower at the end of July (also over our anniversary weekend) gives us more time.

So, I guess I think waiting til 34-35 weeks is totally fine.

My "big" shower that MIL is hosting is scheduled when I'll be 33 weeks.  My mom is throwing a smaller one at 30 weeks, and my BFF is throwing another smaller one at 35 weeks.  If I were only having one, I'd be ok with 34...35 starts to make me nervous (although I'm already worried about how much we still need to do/buy, so apparently that's just my nature).  But really, as long as it's before 36 weeks, you'll still have a month, give or take, to get everything ready.

Local shower is 28w.  Work shower is about 30w.  Hometown shower is 31w.  Would have liked the hometown shower to be a little earlier, since it involves a cross-country flight, but being back home on 4th of July was important to me since it's a big holiday for our family, so DH and I decided to go for it.

I will be 35 weeks.  I have no idea how I feel about this, but I guess we can only hope for the best.  I'm planning around one of my closest friends having a baby in early July and my mom being on vacation 2 weekends later in July.  So mine will be July 30th.

I don't think the whole, "what if I don't get something I need" will be a factor.  I've purchased most of the absolute necessities and my mom is retired so if I really need something, she'd go get it in a pinch!

I think I'll be 36 or 37. And getting it that early took my sister's help. My mom wanted to wait until after Smudge is born. I am more comfortable doing it beforehand, because despite what my MIL thinks/says I doubt people are going to buy us all of our big ticket items.

I'll be 27 weeks but we are having mine early because BFF and I are due 7 weeks apart and are throwing each other's shower together (was better than having them 2 weeks apart and double the work for 2 pregnant chicks). She will be 34 weeks along.

Mine is a surprise but I've been asked over and over (and pressured) to get addresses from people on my invite list. I'm thinking it'll be later June or sometime in July. I'll be between 27-31 weeks.
