I was at lowe's today because I was planting my DD's birth tree, and I needed some mulch, soil, etc.
I am not too worried about lifting something a little more than 25 pounds so I loaded two bags and some soil into the cart and went to check out. They guy who rang me up comes over to my cart with his little scanner, scans the bar code on the soil and just looks at me. So I pick up the bag and he scans the bag of mulch, I pay for it and then he just goes, "Ok so thanks, have a nice day."
I am very obviously pregnant. I do a lot of working out so I just have a HUGE belly sticking out.
I don't know why I am so bothered that a young able bodied male who rang up rather heavy purchases for a very pregnant woman didn't offer to help. I don't need it, I'm just perturbed.
Same thing happened to me when I was pregnant. I was at the store with my very old grandma and the teenage carry-out boy didn't offer to help. plus it was raining and he had a rain jacket and rain hat on. Men do suck.
im a manager at a grocery store if any of my kids ever did anything like that i would be so mad with them even if the person looks like they can handle something still nice to ask them if they would like any help sorry u had this happen to you

I actually had the opposite experience when I went to UPS with a box. It wasn't heavy, just very awkward to carry with my big ole belly, but the counter boy came running out of the store when he saw me through the window to come take the box for me. He told me if I needed to ship anything else when I came to his store to come and get him and he'd come get it from my car next time. I thought it was really sweet.
I don't know how old the "guy" was but I am just going to venture a guess that he probably was in high school or college or whatever. If he was older then he probably would have offered to help but again nothing would shock me. At the same time, guys or anyone else are not mind readers. Why did you not just ask him to help you. Should he have just done it, yes, but again if he was younger it might not have occured to him. Ugh men my ass....that could have easily have been a female cashier as well and I will also bet that 50% of the time you would get the same result from a female.

You're a bit grumpy....
I agree. There is no need to be rude. My brother worked at Lowe's all through college and it is their job to insist on helping.. especially a pregnant lady. I'm pretty sure it's that way in most stores.

As in the rest of life, only some men suck.
