What do you think? My fiance's mom is German and moved here when she was seventeen. Viveca is a German name, but I've never seen it before. Thoughts on it? Good or horrible? How would you pronounce it?
I think of Vivica A. Fox, the actress. Is it pronounced the same? vi-vi-kah? I like it, I had forgotten all about this name. Thanks! The family significance makes it all the better.
I like it, but if someone hadn't said Vivica, I wouldn't have known how to pronounce it. I also wouldn't have made any correlation to German. It looks more Latin to me. I also thought of vivacious and it made me think for some reason it was viv-ay-sha. But viv-a-ka, or even viv-ay-ka, sounds nice. Either way I think it's a beautiful name, but it would be hard to spell and pronounce for others. Very unique, definitely cool.

It doesn't look German to me at all. The "V" in German is pronounced like an "F" and that would make this name a tongue-twister. According to behindthename.com, this spelling is not recognized at all as a name but Viveka pulls up as a Swedish name and Vivek is an Indian name.
If it's pronounced the way I think you're supposed to pronounce it, I think it sounds kind of lively and pretty,
Re: Viveca?
I've seen Vivica before (actress Vivica Fox) I assume Viveca is the German version?
Seems ok to me if that is the case (and you have that family history/ancestry)
To me (and my non-german self) it looks a little off with the e in there.
It reminds me of the word vivacious. (not a bad thing to be thought of!)
