XP: Ergo w/ infant insert users, please come in

How do you get the legs positioned right without risking LO's feet being uncomfortable?  I just put LO in the Ergo because he's having a rough tummy trouble day and apparently he has decided to accept it, at least for now.

Because he was so upset when I bundled him into the insert, I couldn't get his feet all nicely tucked into the insert the way Ergo tells you to in their YouTube video.  I'm also concerned about his spine not being supported enough, and about whether he's sitting too much in the insert and not "perched" enough like Ergo says he should be.  Basically, I'm (probably unnecessarily) nervous about this thing.

Now that he's calmed down, I've tried to adjust him while wearing him but I'm still unsure about this.  This is actually the one thing that has kept me from wearing him more often so I'd really like to figure this out.

Btw, he is about 10 lbs. right now.

Thanks!

  • I have the heart to heart insert. Bigger babies and babies that aren't brand new newborns probably wont have their feet tucked it. I never had a hard time getting my babies into it, but I didn't stress over the proper placement much. I never wear them for extended periods of time either though.

I wear DD in it sideways (like in a cradling position). It's WAY more cozy for us both, There's a youtube vid on it somewhere....  Try it sideways.
