Hey ladies, I am having to go back to work on July 5th and I am looking for a nanny to watch Townsend while I go back to work at our home full time. If you ladies know of anyone that might be interested please have them email me at [email protected]. Thanks!!
just curious...How much do you guys pay for them to go to the sitter's house and is it M-F 8 to 5? He is my first and I am so paranoid...I know I am being so silly about this. One of the reason why I said to watch him at our house is because where I work and where I live we share a corner. So basically I walk to work everday and if there is a problem my manager will let me walk home because I am so close.
But, if you send your DS to an in-home sitter at her house for a normal 8-5, M-F schedule, I would expect to pay anywhere between $400 to $525 a month on average. (Misty, would you agree that this is about normal?)
If you plan on having someone watch your son in your home, it would likely be $6 to $10 an hour... or $1,000 a month or more if you work 40 hours a week. While we'd love to have an in-home sitter, it's just too expensive for us. We feel lucky though because our sitter lives next door to us, so DD is never far away from home.

Yeah, I'd say between $400 and $525 is about right. We pay $20/day for about 7:30-5:30. It works out nicely that way because we don't have to pay for days like today when we are both off work and can keep him at home.

Yes
Sorry I can't be of much help. You might try www.care.com.
Like Misty, my child also goes to a sitter but it's in the sitter's home, not our own house.

My DD only goes to a sitter 3.5 days a week.
