Pregnant after a Loss

For those of you on BA...

Have you ever skipped a day? I think i forgot to take mine this morning but I can't remember. I'm not sure if I should take another one or just wait till tomorrow morning. Suggestions? I'm leaning towards waiting till morning but it is playing with my head, like I'm envisioning blood clots.

Re: For those of you on BA...

  • I missed a few days in January while I was in the hospital, and a few days here and there with moving and traveling.  No clots here!

  • I also missed mine once. I just took it like normal the next day and everything was fine, no complications at all.

Yeah, I've only ever missed one other day and he isn't moving much today so I'm sure I'm being a freak. If I knew I didn't take it this morning I would just take it now, but since I may have taken it I don't want to be doubling up. I just wish he would wiggle around more to tell me he is ok.

  • I'm sure I've missed a day here or there.  I don't think missing one day will hurt anything.  I also forgot to do my shot of Lovenox last night. Oops!

Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

  • If you aren't sure, I wouldn't double dose. You will be fine to just take tomorrow. I haven't missed a day yet but I'm extremely anal.

  • If you miss a dose, just resume your normal dosing schedule tomorrow.  Don't double up.

Aspirin works on your platelets by genetically modifying them to prevent clotting issues.  Whatever platelets you have now have already been exposed to the aspirin (and will again tomorrow) so they are already being treated, so to speak.  It takes about 7 days to form all new platelets so missing one day here or there really doesn't make a huge difference.  HTH.
