Baby wearing in hot climates

I have a question I'm hoping you can help with. When DD was born, we went everywhere in her Moby wrap. I loved it, but living in Florida, the material is just too hot for her, especially in the summer. DH uses a Baby Bjorn, but she seems too small for it still and I can't BF her in it. I would love a wrap or a sling that is comfortable for her outside and where I can nurse her comfortably. Do you ladies have any suggestions??

 TIA!

  • I know just what you mean, I had to give up on the moby when it got too hot here. Poor kid was just sweating buckets every time we went out! I would love one of these but couldn't find it in my size:

I got one of these instead; it's very pretty and ds is comfortable in it but it's a woven wrap so it is not stretchy and forgiving as the moby which means it's little more dificult to tie properly. On the otherhand I find it's really supportive when he's in it and I can wear him comfortably for long periods of time:

  • I just bought a Gypsy Mama gauze wrap. I used it when it was 80 here the other day and it was great!

  • I have a ring sling from sleepingbaby.net and love it. It has pretty much replaced my Moby and I can still BF in it.

  • Thanks for the suggestions! I wish they weren't so expensive. Maybe I'll take up sewing.
