Never heard that. I was always taught start with blah and move up to sweet. Otherwise, if they get used to sweet first, they don't like the other stuff. It's worked for my kids, but all kids are different.
We did: Squash, peas, carrots, green beans, and then next will be sweet potatoes.
Then fruity sweets.

I've heard two ways. One was to start with blah flavors...usually the green vegetables, then the oranges ones and then go to fruits. I also heard that it doesn't matter what order you go in. Babies already have an affinity to sweet (BM is sweet-ish). So you can start with anything.
When DD was born, I was told to introduce by color (orange, green, fruit, etc...). However, now I am told to do it however I want. The recommendation seems to change all the time, so use your best judgement.
The paperwork from the Pedi said Cereal, Orange, Fruits, Green but didn't give a reason. The Pedi herself just suggested Cereal, veggies, then fruit since the fruit is sweeter.
My pedi said the order was pointless too. We could start with anything - most choose a grain - but you don't have to start veggies first (as opposed to fruit)

My pedi said it is pointless. He said the order doesn't matter just wait 3-5 days inbetween each item to watch for a reaction.
