I can't decide what I would like more. With both of my DDs I wanted girls. I would have been upset if either one of them would have been a boy. I always thought I would only want all girls.....then my dad died and everything changed. Now I would love a boy to be able to carry on my dads name. Also with DH already having a DD and me having 2 DD I would love to give him a son. We already have a boys name picked out and know we would use DHs mom, grandma, great grandmas name for a girl but we can't seem to agree on if it would be a middle or first. also every other girl name I like he says no to. We have stopped talking about girl names. We are going to wait til we find what we are having.
I was the oldest child in my family, so I think it would be cool if there was an older brother.
I think this is mostly where my desire for a boy comes in. Growing up I always thought it would have been cool to have an older brother.
Having an older brother only became cool for me when I got to high school - up until then I HATED having an older brother!
Although, my nephew is already a much better older brother to my niece than my brother ever was to me when I was really young, so it may have just been our personalities.
and before we start with the "I don't care, I just want a healthy baby" comments, let's just put it out there that we ALL want healthy babies. Wishing for one sex over the other doesn't mean you'll love the baby any less or wish it wasn't healthy if it's the opposite sex.
This. All of it. Couldn't have said it any better myself.

DH wants a boy. DD wants a little sister. DH has said that if this one is a girl, he'll want to try for another one, and I'd rather be done after two. That aside, I secretly want another girl. But really, I'll be fine either way, and since most babies on DH's side are boys, I am preparing myself to have a boy this time.
DD born 10/10/07 * DS born 11/25/11 * #3 due 3/9/2015
I go back and forth on this one. Since we already have one of each it doesn't really matter but since my daughter and this baby will only be 19 months apart I think it would be nice for her to have a sister close in age. Everybody I know with two of the same gender close in age say they are best friends and I think that would be really nice. But then I think it would be great for my son to have a brother. I know he'd love one. But with just over a 3 1/2 year age difference would they really be that close.. until they're older and age gaps aren't as big of a deal. So .. at this point I'm leaning towards girl.
I want a boy. My DH husband is on the fence about having a 3rd child. I really want three kids. He said if this one is a girl we will dicuss a 3rd if it is a boy we would have a 3rd for sure to try for a girl.
I have 2 girls, so it would be nice to have a girl, because we have all the stuff. But it would be nice to have a boy, because I think DH would really like one... either way, I am fine.
I'm in this boat. I'll take what I'm given.

I really don't have a preference. I think shopping for a girl would be more fun and the idea of dressing her up in the cute frilly little outfits makes me want a girl. But I know MH really wants a boy and I think having a boy first be nice. I also tend to think it's a boy simply because we can't agree on names and we've had a girls name for years.

With DD - I swore up and down that I was having a boy. I was definitely shocked when we finally found out the gender at 24 weeks and it was a girl. I actually didn't believe the tech (we had the tech put it in an envelope and we opened it with all of our family so we could all find out at the same time). I was a little upset because I just had this feeling that it was a boy and I have a SD who was 6 at the time and is very moody! I wasn't ready for another girl. However, now that DD is here, I love her so incredibly much and can't imagine my life with a little boy. So now I'm kinda leaning towards wanting another girl just because they'll be 19 months apart and I never had a sister and think it would be great for her to have a sister. However, if we have a boy, he'd totally be a momma's boy!
For ever and ever I've always wanted a girl as my first....now that we're pregnant, I'm just so happy I really don't care! DH really wants a boy though.
Because I already have a girl (2!) I'm okay with either. You'd think I'd want a boy to even things out-but I'm indifferent. If I didn't have a girl-I'd be hoping, hoping for a girl-jsut to say there is no shame in that!
Thanks to pp-for the "of course we all want a healthy baby-so don't even start comment." People are funny.
For some reason it took us forever and a day to get and stay pregnant. Cancelled IVF, failed IUI's and a marriage in crisis sandwiched within two years. Now, we've been blessed with two girls and a Christmas Baby is on the way. Not planned but perfect.

This is our first and DH has always said he wanted a girl since he is one of three boys and wants a daddy's girl but I thin he is starting to think a boy may be nice first. I think either will be awesome! I have an older brother so I love that but we are only 12 mo apart and since boys mature so quickly (lol) Half the time I feel like his big sister anyway!
We really wanted a boy with DD. And I'll admit I was slightly disappointed when we saw the vagina, but then I went to the store and realized that there are a MILLION cute things for girls vs three things for boys.
With this one I want a girl because we have all the clothes, (even though I know I'll still buy more. LOL) but over all I'd rather have a boy because the thought of having two teenage girls gives me heart burn.

boy. Because I already have a daughter and I'd like one of each.
She is definitely daddy's girl. I want mommy's boy LOL.

I kind of want a boy just to experience a boy...plus I kind of think it's a boy.
But I also think it would be great for DD to have a sister close to her age.
Time will tell!
