I just skimmed the article, but IMO, proactive discipline takes much more work up front than reactive discipline. It seems like it should take more energy, but I believe in the long run, it actually takes less. I spend a lot less time providing consequences for C, when I take the time to teach her the behaviors I want her to display before a certain situation/activity. But there are still a lot of times when I have to react to her behavior too, I mean she is 2...
