Progress...or lack thereof

The dr checked me this morning and he said that the baby is lower and that the cervix is soft, but that there is no dilation yet. I'm dying to meet my baby girl!! C'mon Sophia!!!

    Aw, I know you're excited but try not to be too antsy ;) You're still pretty early yet and really, dilation/effacement mean nothing. You could be closed tight and go into labor tonight or you could be 3-4 d cm dilated for a month with nothing happen.

    It'll be over soon and you'll get to meet your baby!

    (Just a suggestion, though, book a due "date" with your DH/SO so that you have something planned. The average time for a first mom to go into labor is 41 weeks, 3 days. At least then you'll have something fun to do that night! And if baby comes before then you'll just have to cancel the reservations, oh well :))

    I remember with DD I was maybe 1/2 a cm dilated in week 37 and then it went to 1cm at 38 wks....39wks to the day my water broke and we were only 2cm.  I know when you're this close you just want to hold your baby.  I will be sending you lots of good thoughts for progress soon!!

    Aw, Sophia will come soon.  It sounds like things are headed in the right direction.  Are you taking long walks this weekend?  You might just have a Memorial Day baby. =)

    Awww I'm sorry!  Just remember it can all change in an instant.  You could be sealed up like Ft Knox at your appt and go into labor this weekend!  Sending lots of dilation and thinning cervix dust (if there is such a think Smile your way!
