Anatomy scan at 19w1d?

My anatomy scan has been scheduled for weeks for tomorrow.  The OB's office scheduled it.  I realize that the purpose of the anatomy scan is to determine how baby is developing and whether s/he has all of his/her necessary parts.  Of course, though, we're curious about the gender as well.  I'm worried that this u/s will be too early to determine whether baby is a boy or girl (e.g. just short of 20 weeks).  Has anyone found out their baby's gender prior to 20 weeks via an u/s alone and had the prediction remain accurate?

It isn't too early.  Mine is tomorrow at 18W 5d.  Some people find out the gender at 16 weeks.  But you never know.  Your baby may not cooperate and show the goods.  Either way, I hope you have a healthy baby.  That is what is most important.

My anatomy scan was in the 19 week timeline and our tech said she was very sure about the gender.  But she also said that she wont guess unless she can see for sure.  I think you should be ok.  It's the ones more around 14, 15, 16 weeks that are more likely to be wrong.

Of course there are always exceptions!

thats exactly when I had mine and they could see quite clearly that it was a girl :-)

It's not too early at all   Most of my friends have found out around 18 weeks, and I have heard some people finding out as early as 16 weeks. I have my a/s scheduled for tomorrow too and I'll be 19 weeks and 6 days. As long as the baby cooperates, the tech should be able to tell us the gender.

I found out I was having a boy yesterday and the tech said she was one million percent sure it was a boy. 18 weeks 3 days.

My a/s is at 19 weeks. If for some reason the sex isn't clear we are planning an elective 2d u/s another week after that. Nothing is for sure but I think they should have a good idea at 19 weeks.

Our a/s will be at 19w4d next Tuesday. My OB schedules them anytime between 18-20 weeks. Assuming your LO cooperates, I think you'll be able to clearly tell the gender.

I found out at 17.5 weeks and it was confirmed by amnio.  It was blatantly obvious at 17w that baby was a boy, should be at 19w too.

I had mine Tuesday at 18w2d and the baby measured at 17w5d. Everything was very clear. Saw fingers, toes, lips, eyes, nose, ears and all the chambers of the heart along with internal organs. Very cool. Also, saw the goods. Baby girl on the way!

We found out at 16w.  It was a boy, so it was easier to see the conclusive evidence.

We have our 20w anatomy scan next Tuesday.  I hope we get the same results.

That's when mine was. Tech had no problem getting the measurements she needed (baby was in a great position, luckily) and we found out that it's a boy.

We were told at an elective u/s at 16w2d that it was a girl, and it was 100% confirmed at our anatomy scan at 18w4d. However, right off the bat the doctor said that she might not be able to get measurements of everything she wanted to since it was so "early" in the time frame. She ended up getting everything but the heart and I have to go back at 22 weeks for another u/s so she can get everything she needs. But at 18w4d we definitely saw the 3 lines and that it was clearly a little girl! As long as your baby cooperates there shouldnt be a problem!!

Well my anatomy scan was at 17w4d and they were confident that my baby is a boy. I would be shocked if they were wrong because we could see it too. Every baby and ultrasound is different but I think that you are fine at 19w1d.

I think you will be just fine.  The OB office I go to will not do them unless you are at least 18 weeks so I think you are just where you need to be!  I'm getting mine at 21 weeks because it fell into my schedule better.
