I want to get a flip diaper cover and the store that sells them here will give you the cover with one liner. My question is can I use a prefold in there or do I have to use one of their liners? I also read somewhere that someone was using a car shami thing too? Im not too keen on that idea but any suggestions are welcome. TIA

Re: flip diapers
You can use a prefold, or even a fitted diaper. You should not use a microfiber towel, though...those should not be in direct contact with a child's skin as it will really dry it out.
I love my flip covers!
I use microfiber towels (from walmart) as doublers. They go under a prefold or insert so they're not directly touching baby's skin.
The flips are great, we have 3. I use large bummi's prefolds in them (I actually dont' have any of the flip inserts. I bought them as seconds and they didn't come with them).
Same here- love the Flip covers.
I've also made some inserts in the same shape as the Flip inserts using minky/fleece, flannel, and microterry.
