Does jam go bad?

I have a jar of Polaner's All Fruit that has been sitting in my pantry for god knows how long.  I can't find an expiration date on it.  I'm really craving toast and jam and that's all I've got.  Will I poison myself if I eat it?

If it is still sealed I think you'll be okay.  I have no idea though, great question.

If it's unopened, I'd go for it so long as there are no bulges or whatever in the lid.  For jams/jellies that are opened and in the fridge, I toss after a few months.

Is it unopened? If it is unopened and the metal seal hasn't popped it should be fine. If it is opened already, I might be a little wary.  You probably won't poison yourself but not all microbial growth is prevented from the sugar (preservative).

It will get moldy when it's bad. I know, because I just thew away a moldy jar of jam last week. If it looks and smells fine, it likely is.

Yep, unopened, no bulges, nothing.  Looks like it just came off the shelf.  I think I may take the risk

I vote that it's just fine! Go for it, I've had many pbj toasts this pregnancy...it's just soooooo tasty!

As long as the jar is sealed your ok.  I make jam a lot and have used it after a couple of years.  I've never gotten sick from it.  We (my family and I) make a whole bunch and different types at one time and then we use it till we run out.

I'm currently eating out of a jar we made 3 years ago...its time to make some more our supply is running low...lol!

You read my mind,  I mentioned this to DH and he just looked at me and said "Oh god, you're reading that website again aren't you?" I sent him out for Gushers a couple days ago when Aprillynn mentioned them, lol. Poor H.

haha I actually did pick up a whole box from Costco the day after she mentioned that!

I've eaten my way through about three boxes already?  They're just so addicting.... lol.
